Courtney Dunn
Courtney's yoga journey began with a desire for physical and mental recovery. Growing up as a dancer, she loved movement but sought a deeper mind-body connection. She developed an interest in yoga in 2004, and after a spinal injury in 2013, she fully committed in 2016 when a friend recommended a donation-based yoga class. Courtney soon began volunteering for the yoga non-profit PURE Action and felt a natural desire to teach and give back. In 2017, she completed a yoga therapeutics training at Ghosh Yoga College in Kolkata, India. Upon returning, she taught classes in mental health recovery centers and local studios, integrating yoga into her psychotherapy practice to help clients improve their mental health. In 2019, she expanded her knowledge by attending a hot hatha training at PURE Yoga Texas in Austin. Since then, she has continued to learn and teach various forms of yoga, including vinyasa, yin, and Ashtanga, completing her training with David Swenson in 2024. Courtney has a deep respect for all forms of yoga and its ancient roots. She returns to her mat to balance her energy and process her experiences healthily. She values both the yang and yin aspects of yoga for their energetic balance. Her intention is to create a safe space for students to feel supported, honor their individual needs, and accept their true selves through the connection of breath, body, and mind.
