Carol Ciccarelli
Carol tried yoga for the first time while living in Egypt in 1996. As a chronic planner and breath holder, she was immediately drawn to the focus on the breath and the emphasis on the present moment. Work, moving and children took the front seat and yoga was absent in Carol’s life for many years until they reconnected again casually in Australia in 2010 and in Scotland in 2013. It wasn’t until her move back to the US in 2015 that Carol’s yoga practice became a steadier and more integrated part of her life. She earned her Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) certification in 2020 after taking a 10 month Yoga Teacher Training course with Kim Taurins of Union Studio (formerly Four Dragons Studio). Carol brings the experience of having done yoga on 3 continents and during very varied stages of her life to her practice. This experience informs both her own practice and her teaching with the knowledge that it isn’t about the way the pose looks but how it sits in the present moment and in the present body.
